I am a beginner trying to find out how to fly out of the Maxwell Air Force Base to MacDill Air Force base in Florida. I am a retired Naval Reserve with a blue ID card. Please help this beginner with the right paperwork and what else I need to know. I am trying to fly August 29th to Sept 2 with my husband who has a blue card also. Do we need DD Form’s 2 also? If so how do we get them? Thanks very much for your help.

Okay. First of all you have to fly where the flights are going, you can not ‘pick’ where you want to go. If there is a mission going from Maxwell to MacDill and they authorize passengers and there are enough seats for you, then you can go. Here is a link that tells where bases “usually” fly and what bases “usually” fly to them. Maxwell does fly to MacDill, but very seldom. Check out the other options on this page to see what is best for you.
A DD Form 2 IS your ID card. That’s all retirees need to travel with unless you are going overseas, then you also need your passport.
Be sure to sign up at each location that you ‘might’ be traveling out of. Your sign up is good for 60 days in most cases (there are a few Navy stations that the sign up is only good for 45 days). Anymore questions? Let me know.

Here is another link that is easy to understand and will help you understand the how Space A works. In fact, that whole website is geared towards retirees, so you may want to subscribe to it and read what she has to say. https://www.poppinsmoke.com/space-a-flights/
