97th AMWAltus Air Force Base – is a United States Air Force base located approx. 4 miles (6.4 km) east-northeast of Altus, Oklahoma.  The host unit at Altus AFB is the 97th Air Mobility Wing (97 AMW), assigned to the Nineteenth Air Force (19 AF) of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The wing’s mission is to provide C-17 Globemaster III and KC-135 Stratotanker formal initial and advanced specialty training programs for up to 3000 flight crew and aircraft maintenance students annually.  Altus AFB was established in 1943 as Altus Army Airfield (AAF).


72nd ABWTinker Air Force Base and Will Rogers Air National Guard – a major USAF base, with tenant US Navy and other DoD missions, located in SE Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area, directly south of the suburb of Midwest CityOklahoma.  It was originally known as Midwest Air Depot, named in honor of Oklahoma native Major General Clarence L. Tinker, the first Native American Major General.  It is the headquarters of the Air Force Materiel Command‘s (AFMC) Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC). 

 

71st FTWVance Air Force Base – is a United States Air Force base located in southern Enid, Oklahoma, about 65 mi (105 km) NNW of Oklahoma City. The base is named after local World War II hero and Medal of Honor recipient, Lt Col Leon Robert Vance Jr.  Host unit is the 71st Flying Training Wing (71 FTW), which is a part of Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The 71 FTW aims to train world-class pilots for the US Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and its Allies and to prepare Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) warriors to deploy in support of the combatant commanders.
