How do you find the cost of living in the Philippines?

Well if you expect to live like you did in the US, it’s probably going to cost you more to live here. If you are a simple person and can eat like the locals do, mostly fish and rice, and don’t need a large house with a/c, then you can live decently for about $800 per month. That’s food and utilities included. I actually have a blog that I blog about my adventures here. Most of them are not so exciting, but sometimes they are and most of them teach some type of lesson. If you want you can check it out at: http://www.texaninthephilippines.com .
My wife and I have been here just over 5 years now and I do miss my USDA beef and dill pickles. I could type for an hour on things, but I’ll stop it here.
